The founder of the company continues at the helm of the company as Chairman. She is
supported by the COO and various functional experts who head their respective
departments. We are currently 200 people strong and our ambition is to scale upto 500 in the
next few years.

Job purpose:
The Lead Engineer – Mechanical / Static will be responsible for overseeing the design and
engineering of various static mechanical equipment including pressure vessels, reactors,
columns, heat exchangers, storage tanks, fired heaters, and packaged items. This role
requires extensive experience in detailed engineering, technical specifications, and design
calculations for mechanical equipment. The incumbent will lead the Static engineering
team and ensure adherence to industry codes, standards, and safety regulations while
coordinating the preparation of mechanical datasheets, material requisitions, and vendor
document reviews. The role also involves providing technical expertise for bid evaluations
and ensuring the design and engineering processes align with client specifications and
project requirement.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Design and Detailed Engineering: Lead the design, analysis, and engineering activities for static mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, reactors, columns, heat exchangers, storage tanks, fired heaters, and packaged equipment.
  • Preparation of Mechanical Datasheets and Specifications: Prepare comprehensive mechanical datasheets, technical specifications, and design documentation for static equipment and packaged items, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Material Requisition and Procurement Support: Develop material requisitions for mechanical equipment, ensuring that all materials selected meet the technical and project requirements.
  • Vendor Document Review and Technical Bid Evaluation: Perform thorough technical evaluation of vendor proposals and documents related to static mechanical equipment. Ensure that vendors' designs and documentation align with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers working on mechanical static equipment. Ensure effective coordination within the mechanical engineering team and other departments involved in the project.
  • Code and Standard Compliance: Ensure that all designs and calculations comply with national (Indian) and international codes and standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, ASCE, etc. for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other static equipment.
  • Client Interaction and Project Coordination: Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and expectations, providing technical support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce adherence to quality control processes and safety standards to ensure the designs meet the highest technical and safety standards.

Problem Solving and Technical Support:
Provide technical guidance for solving complex design and engineering issues,
ensuring timely resolution to meet project schedules.

Experience and Qualification Required: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in
Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. A minimum of 15-25 years of experience in
the design, analysis, and engineering of static mechanical equipment such as
pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, storage tanks, fired heaters, and
packaged items.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Indian and international codes and standards for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in design software such as PV Elite, COMPRESS, or other similar tools used for the design of pressure vessels and related equipment.
